Dear Chamber Members and Friends:
The cleanliness of our streets is of paramount importance to all New Yorkers. The timely removal of garbage and the sweeping of our streets help make our city liveable, and is a source of pride for residents and businesses on the West Side, and throughout the city. But sometimes events interfere with the scheduled cleaning, or the collection of baskets on the avenues, and an overflowing trash receptacle is quite noticeable on an otherwise clean sidewalk. Are the collection schedules adequate, or is an update in order? Are the new recycling bins on the avenues working as intended, or is there a better design which might yield better results?
We hope you can join us at our first Chamber Breakfast of the new season, where Department of Sanitation Supervisor – Citywide Community Affairs Officer Iggy Terranova will give us an update on the Department of Sanitation’s plans to keep the Upper West Side clean & green! Let’s find out what we can all do to keep our neighborhood looking clean, rodent-free, and a great place to live and work.
